WSSP300 Magny-Cours

The raceweekend started with a P13 overall after FP1&FP2.

In FP3 on Saturday we could improve a little, but in Superpole we had technical problems so I was forced to the LastChanceRace to be able be part of the race on Sunday. With victory in this LastChanceRace I had to start from P29 on the grid.

From as soon as the lights went out for this 12lap race,I gave it all and moved lap by lap further to the front. In the final laps I fighted for positions 6 to 8 and in the last final corners I was able to hold on the 6th place to the finishline. With moving 23places forward from start to finish,I feel very happy. Big thanks to Roberto of 2rRacing for all your support.

CIV Supersport 300 Misano

This weekend I got a wildcard entry in the Italian CIV competition SuperSport300 class.

Because I was dropped in the WorldSuperSport300 series a few weeks ago,I had only a very short time to get to know this bike and the team. So we took this opportunity in the Italian series to get more experience on this new bike and to work on the set-up for the opcoming events. We made good progress with the bike and I had the chance to battle with other riders out of the WorldSuperSport who compete also here.

In the 1st race on Saturday, wich was Red Flagged due to the weatherconditions,I finnished 3rd.

The second race on Sunday, also interrupted by a Red Flag and then restarted,I took the victory.

Due to the wildcard entry,I have been withdrawn from the final results.

Statement

+++ Statement by Livio Loi and Reale Avintia Academy. +++

Livio Loi and Reale Avintia Academy have decided, by mutual agreement, to put an end to their collaboration in the Moto3 World Championship from today on.

The eight races since the beginning of the season could unfortunately not meet the expectations of both sides. Reale Avintia Academy staff, together with Livio and his management team Zelos. We put all efforts to make this project succeed but results never came and both parts were forced to take this difficult decision.

We are working on different project now to continue my racing career and hope to tell you more soon.

Assen Race

Livio Loi | P24

“It was a very fast race and we had problems on the corner exits. The engine didn’t accelerate enough and as a consequence, I lost lots of time on the straights. It felt like losing the game time and time again exiting the corners. I tried to get in touch with the fast group in front of me, but whatever I gained on the brakes, I would lose in acceleration. It was tough to fight on, because I was constantly losing positions. Now we have to analyse why I lost that much time. All in all it wasn’t a bad weekend, but today something strange happened. Now we have to look ahead and think of the next race.”

Assen Day 2

Livio Loi | 1'43.193 | P17

“I think we did a good day. In FP3 with used tyres we had good pace and then in qualifying I could make a good lap. At the end we found a good direction with the set-up of the bike and I think that if tomorrow during the warm-up we are able to make another little step we can be really competitive in the race. We will fight for it and I hope to be there.Due to 4 gridpenaltys for riders in my front,I will start from P13.

Assen Day 1

Livio Loi | 1’44.235 | P27

“I really think that we made a step forward today and that we are on the right track. I hope that we can continue this way and that I can make another little step tomorrow. I missed out on my chance to do a better lap time on the last two laps of the second free practice session. I went out with fresh tyres, but I got caught up in a big group of riders and there was a lot of traffic, otherwise I could have done much better. Tomorrow, we will be stronger. I am sure we can fight for a good qualifying result.”

Catalunya Race

Livio Loi | P15

“After a difficult weekend, we must be happy with this point. I want to dedicate it to Andreas, although it is not the result I dreamed of. I had a good start, but with so much distance to the front runners it is difficult to catch up. I’ve been trying to stay ahead of the second group, to push and to get away from them. I think that this morning we went in the right direction with the set-up. Now we have to continue like this so we can be even stronger at Assen.”

Catalunya QP

Livio Loi | 1’50.247 | P27

“We tested several things on the bike to try to find a better way, but nothing worked as planned. We need to check the data tonight and see where we can improve. We are still far from the top and we need to find something to go faster and to have better feelings, because we should be much higher up. If the feeling remains as it is with the bike, the race will be tough, because we lose in many areas of the circuit. I hope to find something that allows me to fight.”

Catalunya Day 1

Livio Loi | 1’50.805 | P27

“The day has been positive. We have been testing several things: tyres and some other ideas that can be useful for Sunday’s race. We are making steps forward and tomorrow we have to keep moving and improve in qualifying. We have to be there in the race and fight for Andreas. Our target is the top 10, but it won’t be easy and we will have to fight hard.”

Mugello Race

Livio Loi | P24

“We have been fighting with the bike all weekend long and to top it off, I had to deal with strong pains in my right arm during the race. On the first two laps, I was quite fast, but then I started to feel the pain, which got worse from lap to lap. In the last part of the race, it was difficult to control the throttle, the gears and even the front brake. It was almost impossible to finish the race. Now I’ll go back home and consult my doctors in order to find out what is wrong with my arm, because this can’t happen again.”

Mugello Day 2

Livio Loi | 1’59.711 | P30

“Today’s qualifying was something to forget. Everything that could possibly go wrong went wrong. We have to give everything tomorrow to make progress in the warm-up, to pull all stops and to make the best out of the situation.”
